Our SM-10 wheel design launched last year in 18” sizes only. Based on feedback and requests from the community, we’re excited to announce new 19” sizes.
These 19” wheels feature the same popular 10 spoke design, deep I-beam milling, and beefier inner lip. We’ve made one big change though. We beefed up the spokes and increased the load rating to 1650 lbs per wheel. This was done to better handle the stresses of heavier cars running grippy tires. Cars keep getting heavier, tires compounds continue to improve, and more people are running aero for downforce. All of those changes increase stress on a wheel. This is now the most robust BMW wheel we’ve produced to date.
This initial release is only for our most popular sizes listed in the table below. Additional sizes will be released in the near future.
We’ve done countless hours of test-fitting to come up with the perfect chassis-specific widths and offsets. Whether you’re looking for a clean and conservative OEM+ fitment or an all-out aggressive track/race setup, we’ve got you covered. Check out our guides below.
Don’t see your chassis listed? We may not have the ideal sizes available just yet. We’ll be releasing even more 19” sizes in the near future.

The right solution for every application
The SM-10 wheel includes details specifically implemented to enhance the BMW owners' track day and street performance experience. An optimized car setup begins with the right wheel and tire fitment, and without model-specific attention, maximum performance is compromised. These wheels were developed for various BMW chassis’s and will work in either square or staggered configurations.
One design, many levels of beauty
Two face profiles will be utilized to maximize spoke concavity and reduce weight on the SM-10 design.
The medium concavity is offered on narrow-width applications, while the deep concavity is offered on our wide-width applications. Concavity is dependent on fitment, and not selected independently.
"I" Beam Spokes
More than just a pretty face
The spokes of the SM-10 were designed to be robust where they need to be, and extra lightweight where they should be. Weight is reduced by CNC machining material out from the sides of each spoke. It’s expensive and avoided by almost every manufacturer, but affordable with volume. In each size of our SM-10 designs, the I-beam spokes are carefully evaluated from structural aspects to ensure minimal weight, brake clearance, and remarkable strength.
Ready for more abuse
By saving weight elsewhere, we’ve added extra material where it counts. We’re beefing up the barrel’s inner lip on the SM-10 to better handle the repetitive abuse seen on the track.
Keep a true balance
We’ve upgraded these wheels to include a knurled bead seat to reduce unwanted tire rotation. This machined knurling throughout the wheel’s barrel increases friction between the wheel and tire to combat excessive tire slippage and maintain a true balance. Braking deep into a corner, bouncing off berms at the apex, and applying throttle at corner exit all apply enough tire load to cause unwanted tire slippage. Arrive to the track with balanced wheels and tires, leave the track with balanced wheels and tires.
Easy to access lugs
Race wheels can't just be light, they need to function in a high performance environment. Unlike the narrow lug recesses of most other wheels, the SM-10 wheel features a wide open hub center that easily accommodates oversized race lugs and beefy impact sockets. This allows for quick and easy wheel changes and prevents chips and scratches from tools.
No rings or adapters here
All APEX SM-10 wheels are purpose built for select vehicle applications, and centering rings are never required for any BMW application. All 5x120mm bolt pattern wheels feature a direct-fit, 72.56mm center bore.
A lot of room in a tight space
Spoke clearance is only half the problem. The barrel construction on a wheel also needs to be big enough to clear the sides of your caliper and rotor. Many aftermarket wheels that have aesthetic compromises in their design may work with smaller stock brakes, or smaller diameter big brake kits, but the larger kits will pose a major problem. The barrel of the SM-10 wheel offers unmatched caliper clearance because wheels shouldn’t limit your choice of aftermarket brake kits, and brake kits shouldn’t force you to run oversized wheels. We 2D modeled most Big Brake Kits available in Solidworks and tweaked the wheel design of the SM-10 prior to production in order to fit as many kits as possible.
Original or Aftermarket, it all works
The SM-10 wheel can be used with all OEM and aftermarket mounting hardware with a 60° tapered seat. Lug bolts, wheel locks, and stud conversion kits all work perfectly. The SM-10 wheel also accepts wheel spacers without issue. The shallow rear chamfer allows the wheel to remain hub centric even when 5mm flat spacers are used. The chamfer is deep enough to clear the chamfered lip found on some aftermarket spacers that would typically cause improper seating of the wheel and, therefore, wheel vibration.
They all fit
TPMS sensors, which monitor tire pressure, are one piece of technology that can't be compromised. The attention to OEM compatibility on the SM-10 wheel doesn't end with center caps. All APEX wheels accept OEM and aftermarket equivalent TPMS sensors, and any standard sized metal or rubber valve stem.
Benefits of forging, without the pain
All APEX wheels, including the SM-10, are produced using the Flow-Forming technique. This process significantly reduces weight in the barrel, which has the greatest impact on rotational mass. During the manufacturing process, rollers apply high pressure to the inner barrel, compressing the aluminum into its final shape. This effectively eliminates porosity and aligns the grain structure of the metal, which increases tensile strength. The end result of the Flow-Forming process is a lightweight and extremely strong barrel that equals that of a traditional forged wheel at a fraction of the cost.
Testing & Certifications
We break a lot of wheels
Computer simulated stress tests are no match for real world testing when designing a lightweight wheel that will see extreme loads. All APEX wheels are crush and load tested to exceed JWL standards and those results are independently tested and certified in Japan by the 3rd party agency known as the VIA. Countless wheel companies falsely claim they are tested and certified by the VIA, and so they lack the certificates to prove it. We test and certify each and every design, diameter, width, and offset, separately.
Weight & Strength Optimization
It's all in the details
We’re taking more time than ever before on this step, revising and iterating our design to reduce weight as much as possible. We’re on this step right now and we’re still shaving off a fraction of a pound at a time. After many months of BMW-specific optimizations, we’ve minimized weight while maximizing strength. 19” wheels typically have less tire protecting them from the imperfections in the road, and that calls for load ratings that are 10% above the JWL/VIA’s standard. The result is a lightweight wheel with extra strength in all the right places. Use the SM-10 with confidence on both street and track.
Because being faster is just not enough
The SM-10 wheels are available in multiple finishes. All APEX wheels are finished using a comprehensive multi-stage liquid paint system over a powder coated base coat. Standard finishes include gloss-metallic finishes, and semi-gloss or matte finishes. Often overlooked, painted or powder coated lug hole seats can cause hardware to loosen or begin the spread of paint chipping to more visible sections. The coating process of the SM-10 wheels leaves lug holes, center bores and mounting pads untouched, which ensures proper fit and torque values.
A wheel you can depend on
All APEX wheels are backed by a 2 year structural warranty and a 1 year finish warranty to the original. This warranty guarantees that all APEX wheels will be free from defects in materials, workmanship, and paint finish under normal and reasonable use.
